ALINA MATOCHKINA

Alina Matochkina is film director and modern embroidery artist. She was born in 1988 in the East of Ukraine, in the small town Starobilsk. In 2006, she moved to Kyiv and studied at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University with a major in "Directing documentary films". Until the beginning of the current war she has worked for 9 years in the field of video production, making advertisements, clips and documentary videos. In 2018, Alina Matochkina won the prize for the best social advertising at the Molodiya Festival. In 2022, she finished her first full length documentary "ADA". During the residency at Schiesslhaus AiR, she plans to work with embroidery on the early Ukrainian history.

SANDRA SINGH

Sandra Singh (born 1990 in Munich, Germany) is a photographer, art educator and visual artist who, additionally to her commissioned journalistic and editorial work, pursues artistic projects around the themes of borders, spaces and migrant identity. She holds a B.A. in Foto Design from the University of Applied Sciences Munich since 2018 and has been Artist in Residence at the Institute of Contemporary Art Yerevan, where she held her first solo show at ICA Gallery (“ararat (work in progress)” Yerevan/Armenia, 2019). She’s done several group exhibitions, among others at broke.today gallery (Munich/Germany, 2020), Artsakh ArtFest’19 (Stepanakert/Bergkarabach, 2019), Moscow Photobookfest (Moscow/Russia, 2018) and Unseen Amsterdam (Amsterdam/Netherlands, 2017). She is a recipient of the European Cultural Foundation STEP grant (2019), VG Bild-Kunst Neustart Kultur grant (2021) and finalist of the Felix Schoeller "Best Work by an Emerging Photographer" Award and the Verzasca Photo Award (both 2017). 

In her practice, Sandra Singh is interested in working at the intersection of different disciplines, like photography, printmaking and performance work. Her current work is based on her ongoing fascination with maps, surveillance techniques and satellite pictures.

GABRIEL RIBEIRO

Gabriel Ribeiro was born in 1990 in Rio de Janeiro, grew up in Brazil and obtained a BA in Fine Art Practice at the Chelsea School of Arts and Design in London and a MA in Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lisbon. His practice oscillates at the intersection of photography, video and sculpture, as a way of exploring the myriad discursive possibilities of matter. He currently lives and works in Lisbon, where he also completed the MAUMAUS International Study Program. Ribeiro has recently participated in national and international exhibitions, including: Crack The Egg, Cordoaria Nacional (Lisbon, 2022). Dream Sequence, MAD (Lisbon, 2022). Suitcase Studies, SWAB, 2022 (Barcelona, ​​2022). Heat, Quadra Gallery (Rio de Janeiro, 2022). QUENCH (solo show), Duplex Gallery (Lisbon, 2022).
